Default 2 Bugs with the 3rd-person camera view.

O.k., WAAAAY down on the priority list but still annoying.

1. Camera will not always drop to new eye-level after /sit

At times, the camera will not drop to eye-level when your character /sits. It stays at your normal standing height. So when you go to zoom the camera around, all you see is your characters' head.

I did some testing last night and noticed it didn't occur all the time. Sometimes I could make it occur by /sit'ing then getting back up using the "both-mouse-buttons" to start running. When I did /sit again, the camera would not drop.

It's just something that bothers me because it seems to always happen when I'm trying to take screenshots.

2. Need 1 more 'zoom-stop' before going to first-person camera

O.k., not so much a bug as a feature.

I'd like to have one more 'level' of zoom available on my character. There is a very large jump when you go from 3rd person to first person. I would very much like to be able to take screenshots of some of my characters from a closer view. If we had one more zoom level available before being yanked into first-person view, it would be much appreciated.

And you zoom back out to re-adjust and your character spins round...facing the beautiful scenery that you want included in your picture, lol.

There is a key combo (defined in "control") that allows you to reverse the camera angle. It is not assigned to any key in my setting, but I guess that's how you would do it to "look at" your character.

There is a 180-degree turn, but that moves the character as well as the camera, is that you're referring to? On my layout, it's the 'X' key.

Completely agreed.
I'm also a passionate photgrapher of Tyria and its denizens.
I didn't buy 15k armor so I could only admire the 6' away view! Give us an up close (as if someone were standing there talking to you) view.

About having one more "zoom level" before first person view.... have you tried holding down the third mouse button (usually your mouse wheel) and then moving the mouse forward? IIRC, that allows for a more gradual zoom (although I can't say that it'll get as close as you'd like it to).

No, there is another command that turns only the camera. While you hold the key down, the camera faces the opposite direction, but your character doesn't do the 180-degree turn. I don't remember what's the default key for this unfortunately.

I don't quite understand what you're getting at with the first issue, but I agree on the second. I'd like to see another scale level or (god forbid) seamless zoom.

As far as I have experienced zooming, not only can it be done by using the mouse-wheel, but it can also be done my pressing the mouse-wheel (3rd button?) down and moving the mouse to do soft-zooming.

my mouse wheel goes in increments (roll forward ever so slightly and it jumps from one view to the other.) From distances it seems seamless but the division that OP is talking about is at about the level where you can see yourself from the waist up (I think, I'm not running the game atm so I can't be specific) and then it jumps into your head. I'd like to be able to zoom right in on my face if I so choose. I can understand however the complications this would pose in trying to get into first person view, which i do often and enjoy to a great extent.

I haven't tried (nor did I know about) the wheel-click zoom, and I'm going to try that next time I'm on.

Yup, as I said, holding the third mouse button and moving the mouse does do soft-zooming - I'm just not sure it will actually allow you to get closer before it auto-switches to first person view... since I assume that there is a set range which triggers the switch from 3rd to 1st person view.

The textures of your character however will become transparent and finally invisible, the closer you zoom.
